The other truth

Photography by Kate Gillett

Because the other truth is this:
The still, calm, strong hands waiting.
That all the storms and hurricanes of this world can't even begin to touch that still, calm, strong centre. Those great hands that can hold everything, love everything. That strength, that humble wisdom that has cradled all my hurt, all my fear, all my grief. That has held, has absorbed and composted it back to the earth.
This is the other truth. That healing and hurting, broken and whole exist always within me. The closest of friends, holding hands, exchanging knowing smiles.
